Cocktail Sausages
Cocktail Sausages, mini sausages on sticks. Would ahve to say my personal favourite food on any party table, usually the first food item to go too! Can buy a bag of them, around 80 usually that you can oven cook, once cooked simply poke them individually with some cocktail sticks that you can also buy sepratley and voila you have your cocktail sausages, a very cheap and easy party food idea.
Sandwich's
Pretty obvious, probably the most common food item on any party menu. Not to mention the endless combinations of sandwich's that can be made to suit anybodys taste buds. Ham, Cheese and Onion, Tuna, Turkey, Beef you name it there are so many potential sandwich options available, cut them into little quarty triangles for the ideal size for guest to choose the different various options of sandwiches available.
Crisps
Again, another common party food idea. Who doesnt like crisps right? There are various brands of crisps available, simply get some type of basket and fill it with different or similiar types of crisps, its probably better to not mix the flavoures if possible, i mean not everyone likes salt and vinegar. So try to keep the flavours seperate so that party guests can pick and choose there favourite without getting ones they dislike!
Sausage Rolls
Another popular choice for any party food, easy to cook and present and very tasty too. Another one of the food items that seem to disppear first from any party table, so try and get enough of them so all your guests can have some. Oven cook them and they are ready, just present them on a plate or some sort of silver tray and the guests at any party will be drawn to them.
Pizza
Another great party food, everyone loves pizza! well at least the majority of people do.. There are so many flavoures to choose from the regular cheese and tomato to spicy pizza with chicken and peppers. You can also buy special party size pizzas, that just like the cocktail sausages will be gone like a flash! An easy party food that anyone can make, simply oven cook and cut, the smaller the portion of cut sizes is usually the better, or better yet jsut buy the tailor made mini party pizzas.
Peanuts
Peanuts is another great party food item, not only because they taste great but they also get your guests drinking more of the beverages you have prepared, they are also so simple to prepare and set up they are a must, even as a table filler. The two most common types of peanuts at partys are ready salter and dry roasted, just make sure that no one with any peanut alergies can get to them, more so the children that may be able to get to them.
Mini Hot Dogs
Another great novelty and great tasting party appetiser, they are exactly mini hot dogs. Again these will be a very popular choice for your guests, especially for children and young adults. You cna get these from any local supermarket and they are tailor made for any party, very easy to prepare too.
Quiche
Bring a bit of poshness to the party with a quiche, french cuisine thats graced our party tables for many years gone by. You can also get mini quiches from any supermarket retailer, they are the perfect party pleaser, very easy to prepare and wtihout a doubt should be considered for any party table.
Chicken Legs
Chicken legs or drumsticks as people call them are also a very popular party choice, really tasty too even when they go cold. Make sure you rap the edge of the chicken around with some sort of foil, so that guests can eat without getting there hands too messy! There are also other chicken options such as breaded chickena and chicken skewers that you can add to the party table.
Vol-au-vents
Another popular party choice, again from french cuisine. You can buy a pack of them from any local supermarket and can fill them with literally anything giving your guests a wide range of flavour options, very easy to prepare and bring the taste of france to your party.
Cakes
Save the best till last, cakes. What would be a party be without a cake? There is so many cake options to choose from that is hard to even start. You could play it safe and have a sponge cake for your party, everyone likes a sponge cake, surley? Here a few of the most common party cakes.
Chocolate Cake
A very popular choice of cake and probably one of the most reconized because everyone seems to love it. You can even mix it, chocolate fudge? choclate orange cake, or what a bout a choclate mousse cake? Really get your guests taste buds by picking various different flavours, or better yet have more than one!
Sponge Cake
Go for a traditional sponge cake, these basic cakes are one of the most common types of cake that nearly everyone will enjoy. Why not bake your own? Not only can you experiment and get a declious tasting sponge bake but it will also be a great talking point, hopefully for good!
